Everything You Must Know About BB CREAM | Definition | How To Use? | Many More..

BB creams were fantastic news back in the day we began searching for niche beauty products to Korea first. The beauty product du jour was long before sheet masks, BB creams were all spoken of.
Because the multitasking formula is already a favorite in drugstores and department stores, people are always curious what BB cream was actually intended for and what exactly it is?

So we thought we 'd give you a snapshot of the shocking history (hint — it's not actually from Korea), what BB cream does (it's complicated), and what BB cream is used for, just because we're all on the same beauty board.

For the expert tips on the advantages of BB cream, how to apply it and how to find the right one for your skin type, we also turned to celebrity makeup artist Sir John for.

        • || INTRODUCE TO THE EXPERT || •

Sir John is a well-known celebrity makeup artist who is particularly known for being responsible for the beautiful looks of Beyoncé.
He has collaborated with some of the Female SuperStars most prominent, including Chrissy Teigen, Mary J. Blige, and Serena Williams.

Despite being frequently credited as a Korean beauty trends, Christine Schrammek, M.D, Originally created BB creams in Germany And though we've all jumped on the bandwagon in the last couple of years, the original from Dr. Schrammek has been around since 1967.

Following drastic therapies such as peels and microdermabrasion, which rendered the skin swollen and inflamed, she first created this as a stopgap for her nurses to use on their bodies. Instead of adding thick makeup, which may have rendered the skin much more tired and sore, Schrammek decided to send them something that would mask the imperfections and give them a touch more coverage, but more importantly, be good to the face. And so cream BB was born.
The technique was refined in South Korea years later, where K-pop and K-drama artists took advantage of their ability to effortlessly turn skin.
After consumers became obsessed with BB creams, the trend made its way to Europe and the United States, where it has become a mainstay beauty and skin product.

BB is an alternative foundation which provides light coverage while being kind to the skin.

BB can stand for a lot of different things, depending on who you ask: blemish balm, beauty balm, blemish base ... In fact, though they're all right, beauty balm is probably the most accurate definition of what it does.
It's really a makeup powerhouse, with smoothing, blurring, covering and tinting.

Today's BB creams have evolved since first they were made. Schrammek's BB cream version was initially designed to help with post-treatment discomfort but what has made BB creams successful in recent years has been their ability to streamline your routine.

'And what is BB cream doing?'
Rather than using a separate moisturizer, sunscreen and base, with a BB cream, you can reduce it all to one phase. Many formulae, however, don't stop there.
If you have some other skin concerns — such as brightness or breakouts — you can quickly find a blemish balm formula with bonus ingredients to fix those as well.
"BB Cream's key advantage is that it offers a pure source of hydration" Says Sir John.

Similar to a foundation, BB creams differ in texture , colour, and finish (matte, normal, or dewy). Nevertheless, unlike a cosmetics foundation that primarily relies on colour and saturation, a BB cream goes a step further with added skin care advantages such as hydration and sun safety. "BB Cream's greatest advantage is that it provides a pure source of hydration,

 " Sir John says,
"It also offers skin tint with ease of maneuverability, making it, for example, a fast choice for Zoom calls."

A BB cream is a fast and simple way to balance out your skin tone without caking on the makeup on days when you want a little coverage but don't have the time to add a full face of foundation or simply don't want it to.

It is also the best way to develop your natural beauty and protect your skin from the light. "BB Cream is a great lightweight choice that often prevents you from getting more cakey, drying look from the base of full coverage," explains Sir John.

Since a BB cream is a mix of skincare and makeup, it can be a little difficult to apply for. The beauty balms are relatively easy to apply given what you may say?!

Using the warmth of your fingertips or a wet makeup sponge to work in and melt the liquid into your skin.

"The easiest way to spread BB cream will be using your hands. There's no need for a brush because you don't have too much coverage that needs to be mixed. Body heat improves the texture by using your hands and makes it easier to handle," says Sir John.

Since a BB cream isn't as thick as a conventional foundation and has the slip of a moisturizer, for a smooth finish it is easy to mix.

As with any product, finding the perfect BB cream for your skin tone and skin type requires sometimes a bit of trial and error. But you'll be sure to find a beauty balm you love – and can't live without – in no time, with all the great items available.

"If you've got acne-prone or oily skin, look for an oil-free matte formula," says Sir John.
Sir John recommends you go for a more moisturizing formula with a dewy finish, if more hydration will help your skin. "Most BB creams are designed to have a lightweight coverage that gives primes and corrects but certain product variants are suggested so that the appropriate skin type medication can be sought."
